Staff Biographies

Health Manager Vacant
Dagmar Sandy has worked for the Beausoleil Family Health Centre in a variety of positions since 1984. In 1992 she received a Diploma from Mohawk College in Brantford for successfully completing the Native Community Care, Counseling and Development Program as a Community Health Representative. Dagmar started as the Telemedicine Site Coordinator/Community Health Representative in April of 2007. Over the past 23 years Dagmar has worked as the Home & Community Care Coordinator, Community Health Representative, Medical Transportation Driver and Medical Transportation Clerk/Receptionist.
Mary has been a proud member of the BFHC team since November of 2005. Mary attended York University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree. Beausoleil First Nation was happy to recruit Mary from the Huronia District Hospital where she multi-tasked working in three departments (Obstetrics, Medical/Surgical and Palliative). She has also worked with St. Elizabeth Health as a visiting Nurse. Mary is most proud of the 25 years she has spent working with youth as a self esteem builder and mentor.
Trish J. Monague began working for BFHC in April of 2006. Trish brings years experience with her form the time she has spent providing volunteer programming for the youth of Chimnissing. Trish still continues volunteering on her days off, spending time with youth on the pow wow trail. Recently she has found time to complete her first year of the Native Classroom Assistant Program at Nipissing University as well as the Nutrition and Wellness Specialist through Georgian College. Trish hopes to use her education to work every Friday with the elementary school children of the community.
Marlene Marsden one of the longest standing members of BFHC, was hired in 1991 as the Medical Receptionist. Marlene was so efficient at her job she was eventually promoted to the Medical Transportation Coordinator and now handles both positions. Marlene completed the Medical Administration program at Georgian College. Since then she has participated in various training opportunities involving health and administration.
Irene Monague originally worked as a Personal Support Worker for ten years with BFHC. Irene was proud to accept a promotion to Community Health Representative when the opportunity arose in May of 2006. Irene brings with her a Personal Support Worker diploma from Georgian College as well as a Native Community Care Counselling and Development which she graduated with honours in June of 2004. Currently, Irene is furthering her education by taking the Registered Practical Nursing Program offered through Loyalist College right here on Chimnissing.
H. Neil Monague has a long history working for the Beausoleil Family Health Centre. He was the original National Native Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program (NNDAAP) Coordinator from 1988-1995. In order to grow and learn Neil moved on from his position, eventually coming back to share his expertise and knowledge in early 2005. Neil has a diploma in Native Community Care from Mohawk College and is continuing his education through the Addiction Studies Institute and has recently completed Medicine Teachings in Pegwis, Manitoba.
Hi, my name is Barbara Marsden and I am a Personal Support Worker with the Home and Community Care program. I graduated from the Barrie Learning Centre as a Personal Support Worker in August of 2000 but had worked as a Homemaker since April, 1994.
Hi, name is Leigh Ann Cass and I am a Personal Support Worker. I received my Certificate from Georgian College in Novmeber of 2001. I started working for the Home and Community Care program as a Personal Support Worker on April 1, 2005. I am currently enrolled in the part-time Registered Practical Nursing Program (RPN).
Hi, my name is Colleen King and I work for the Home and Community Care program as a Personal Support Worker. I graduated from Georgian College as a Personal Support Worker in November of 2002 but had worked before as a Homemaker since December of 1987.
Hi, my name is Pamela King and I am a Personal Support Worker with the Home and Community Care Program. I started in September of 1995 as a Homemaker and entered the Pesonal Support Worker Course at Georgian College in 2000 and graduated the same year.
Andrew Copegog began his career as the Fitness and Recreation Coordinator with Beausoliel Family Health Centre in January 2007. Andrew came to Beausoleil First Nation with an extensive background of professional experience. He has had hands-on experience that includes governance, administrative positions and to working in the field as Personal Support Worker and in the Hospitality Industry. He is a recent graduate of Georgian College receiving a diploma in Hotel and Resort Operations. Today he is studying as a part-time student in, Human Resource Management. Andrew has recently completed coaching modules part A and B, with the National Coaching Certification Program and the Nutrition and Wellness Specialist course.
Alisha Cass began her position with the Beausoleil Family Health Centre, as a Relief Fitness and Recreation Programmer, May 2007. Alisha was proud to accept the promotion permanently in September, 2007. Alisha Cass dreamed about having the Fitness and Recreation Programmer position for a long time. She finally got her chance to get her feet wet and began as relief Physical Fitness Promoter in May, 2007. Officially, Alisha accepted this permanent position in September, 2007. Alisha brings to the position a wealth of personal experience in the recreation field. In her younger years she competed in figure skating competitions capturing gold and silver medals. Alisha’s academic pursuits include attending Loyalist College in the Registered Practical Nursing (RPN) Program. After much hard work and time spent away from family, Alisha will be a proud graduate from this program in June 2008. Coupled with this school challenge, Alisha also completed Coaching Certification under the National Coaching Certification Program this past year. Alisha also completed an Older Adult Fitness Instructor course. In 2008, Alisha intends to complete the Nutrition and Wellness Specialist course and a Fitness Instructor Specialist course with Georgian College to further augment her skills and her never-ending quest for more knowledge and skills.
