Seven Grandfather Awards 2007

Nominations are now being accepted for the 4th Annual Seven Grandfather Awards to be held on Saturday October 8, 2007 (Thanksgiving Weekend). The Seven Grandfather Awards are held to recognize members of the community (including Off-Reserve Members) who follow and exemplify the teachings of the Seven Grandfathers. Nominations may fall under one of the following categories:

Wisdom - Is to have Wisdom is to know the difference between good and bad and to know the results of your actions, that each choice you make has consequences.

Bravery - Is to do something right, even if you know it is going to hurt you.

Humility - Is to humble yourself and recognize that no matter how much you think you know, you know very little because learning is lifelong.

Truth - Is to learn truth, to live with truth, to walk with truth and to speak the truth.

Respect - Is to respect others, their beliefs and respect yourself. If you cannot show respect, you cannot expect respect to be given.

Love - Is unconditional love. It is to know when people are weak they need you the most, that your love is given freely and you cannot put condition on it for your love is not real.

Honesty - Is to achieve honesty within yourself to recongize who you are. In doing this you will be honest with all others.
